California ReThink Disposable Program Director
Julie has spent the last 2 years heading up Clean Water's ReThink Disposable Program, successfully administering our grants and collaborating with the sustainability community to reduce toxic plastic waste in food service businesses throughout California. Prior to joining Clean Water, she spent 30 years at the intersection of human health and the environment, consulting on numerous candidate and issue campaigns throughout the country, as well as serving in leadership positions on federal races.
Julie’s substantial policy and organizing experience also extends to the nonprofit arena, including global travel to facilitate culturally competent fundraising for a storied multinational environmental organization, and serving as Executive Director for an environmental non-profit in Nevada where she was involved in managing a multi-state coalition that successfully engaged in the State’s mercury regulatory process. This Bay Area native completed her undergraduate degree in Theater Arts and Communications at San Jose State University.
